There is a new infection that is sweeping the computer world. The new, vicious attack is a worm called Downandup, Downadup, Kido!, or Conficker. They are actually all the same thing and it is being delivered via infected USB drives. This virus is extremely tricky and you must protect yourself from it. Downandup, Downadup, Kido!, or Conficker works by fooling you into running the virus by modifying the way “autorun” works when you take the simple action of plugging in a drive. You will then see two entries for “Open folder to view files.” One of them is actually a fake entry that will install the virus on your computer. Downandup, Downadup, Kido!, or Conficker will begin when you plug in the drive it is the default selection that pops up on your machine. Once installed, Downandup, Downadup, Kido!, or Conficker spreads malisciously through a flaw in the networking system. This is the newest and most viscious virus we have seen in a very long time. Protect yourself from this and other computer infections.
