DangerousVirus - Dangerous Problem
DangerousVirus is a dangerous problem to computer users. The problems begin when you open a video link and a pop-up tells you your system is infected with a dangerous virus and they “strongly” recommend you install an anti-spyware program (DangerousVirus) to clean your system and avoid a total crash of your computer. Then further problems arise if and when you open a video link and a pop-up tells you to install Video ActiveX Codec. This is where the real problems lie because a trojan hides under this codec and immediately after installation you will be infected with a Zlob trojan which shows the usual fake security messages. DangerousVirus will offer to do a security scan with their software. DangerousVirus will show exaggerated system scan results to frighten the user and coerce them into buying the product. If you are infected with DangerousVirus you must remove it.
Rich Video Codec
Rich Video Codec (v 1.6) is a new bogus codec that tricks users into installing it by claiming it is needed in order to watch a video or see an image. Rich Video Codec is a clone of the widespread Advanced Media Extension Codec that plagued many users over the past couple of months. Symptoms of Rich Video Codec include the bundling of The Bonrep toolbar and the attachment of a slim yellow warning bar on top of the browser window.
