Antivirus 2009 is a new rogue anti-spyware program. This is the latest in a long line of rogue programs that have plagued computer users for some time. Antivirus 2009 is a clone of other nefarious rogue applications such as Antivirus 2008, System Antivirus 2008, Ultimate Antivirus 2008, Vista Antivirus 2008 and XP Antivirus 2008. The list is long but the problem is the same. Without reputable anti-spyware programs protecting your system you will be continually vulnerable to these disgusting thieves.
Antivirus 2009 spreads exactly like the afore-mentioned predecessors by using trojans such as Zlob or Vundo. The usual place these trojans preside is in porn/warez websites disguised as video codecs. What follows is the usual fake notifications from Antivirus 2009 which tell you your system is infected. This may or may not be entirely true but the message is consistent. They want to convince the user he is infected and therefore needs an antispyware program to dispose of the threat.
