Ahomepcsafety is the latest homepage hi-jacker from the Zlob group. Ahomepcsafety changes an infected users homepage to Ahomepcsafety (dot) com. Ahomepcsafety (dot)com displays a bogus Trojan warning initially offering an anti-spyware product to remove the infection. Of course it is all a scam. Not only does this infection change the homepage to Ahomepcsafety (dot) com but it also drops two desktop icons labeled Online Security Guide and Security Troubleshooting. These links lead to more scare tactics to download rogue applications of course. The rogue application, Virusprotect 3.9 or Virus Protect 3.9, is often bundled with Ahomepcsafety (dot) com as well as the now infamous Security Toolbar 7.1. Read more
Microbillsys, How to Remove Microbillsys
Microbillsys is another in a long line of scamware application but what makes this one unique is how it goes about goating the user into converting a payment for them. Microbillsys attempts to collect a purported debt stating that, get this, YOU the user, OWE them a fee after visiting their site and receiving a free trial offer of their supposed antivirus software which has now expired. Microbillsys states that they are a ‘global debt collection and bill payment solution’. They are neither and this is simply a scam. Do not purchase anything related to this Microbillsys infection.
